One of the reasons I practice yoga is to practice acceptance. When I started at 23, I never thought that this would help me feel better through the aging process. But now at 53, I have better strength, mobility and balance than many of my peers, plus mentally I have much less anxiety and can accept things as they are. I have the strength to change things that don't serve me without getting bent out of shape over it. It feels like a super power, acceptance.

Judith Viorst wrote a book entitled "Necessary Losses" which discusses how to gracefully let go of various things and events throughout our lives. It's organized by decade. At 67, I've found it useful as the "speed bumps" as Jimmy (RIP) said go by.
